Autumn Decorations Up/UFO's getting completed

November 2, 2016

Finished getting the Fall Decorations out and about.  So nice to see all the wonderful colors of Autumn.  I do believe this is my favorite time of year. Though I miss the longer hours of daylight, the long shadows, the crisp air, the colors changing...it all is so invigorating!

My Studio received it's organizing over the weekend and I am so pleased to have a workable space to create.  I have also placed my first ad and will be making plans for next year.  I will be visiting some of the farmer's markets and fairs located throughout Southeastern Connecticut/Southwestern Rhode Island next year so if you happen to be out at these wonderful places, you may just see me.  I will post the locations/dates that I will be featuring my items for sale once I have secured my reservation.  I will also be entering some items at local Fairs.  You will see my handy-work at The North Stonington Agricultural Fair, Brooklyn Fair, Washington County Fair, Woodstock Fair and hopefully also at the Big E!  I am so excited to be growing my business and will be offering new items for sale in my store very soon.

This past weekend I had not only the time to organize my space but to get some UFO's completed!  These items took a backseat during my studio move, life in general and other craft projects that I had been doing.  A new table runner prototype will be competed this week and on Sunday I completed 20 cards and 7 tag cards .  *For those of you who don't know what a UFO is in the quilting world, it stands for Unfinished Fabric Object so no need to panic and alert NASA, send me off to Area 51 or call MIB.

I know most folks are just trying to get in the flow of the start of the school year and if you are anything like me, you are wondering where on earth September went!  Now October is flying by too!  Do keep in mind that Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming and hand made items take time to create.  Now is a great time to be thinking about hand made gifts for friends or family.  Many young people are getting married in the winter months and what a wonderful way to commemorate their special day!  A handmade quilt just for them to snuggle under together or perhaps something smaller for their new start together like a wall hanging, place mats and table runner.  Babies also like to make their grand appearance and what better way to welcome a little one than with a lovely little baby quilt to cuddle with, play on and keep as an heirloom.  Maybe even a themed wall hanging to go in the baby's room. Let me know what you need or if you love the idea but aren't sure where to start, call me and I will help!

Enjoy your day....I'm off to grab a cup of tea and finish that table runner!
