Well, what a weekend it was! Ground hog day was so much fun...this year's theme was "simplicity" and it featured white and tans with wood accents, white beeswax candles, and napkins folded to look like lotus flowers and filled with silver Hershey's kisses. Food was our typical feast; Hamburgers, french fries, corn on the cob, and there was supposed to be potato salad...unfortunately that was left behind by the person who shall remain nameless but was supposed to bring it. All that feasting was followed by strawberry shortcake for dessert. Yummy! This was our 24th year celebrating this day and having fun. Next year will be 25 and Lord willing we will have to go over the top!!
Sunday was Superbowl game day and we had another feast with friends joining us. They brought the pizza bites (oh man those were fantastic!!) and their absolutely out of this world salsa! I could just sit and eat it with a spoon it's that good. We provided nachos with homemade cheese sauce...my specialty, along with wings, salad, fruit, chips and peanut butter no bake cookies. Too bad the game didn't end as we had hoped. Still, great game was played and both teams really put it all out there on the field. Congratulations to both!
Now it has been back to work. Finished a pair of fingerless mits that are really cute! My first ever. Photos will be coming tomorrow when the light is better. I'm also working on another repair quilt. I purchased the color charts for both Moda Bella fabrics and Kona solids so I can get more accurate color matching. Can't wait to post photos of that project completed! In the meantime, enjoy some Ground Hog Day fun!
