Elephants are coming!

A week ago my mother was sorting through her old craft items and came across a pattern that was so near and dear to my heart. My mother was a seamstress; making dresses for myself growing up, slip covers for furniture and so many other things. She is where my inspiration has come from when I'd watch her work for hours on crafts to sell at local craft fairs or taking on custom orders. I'd listen to her sewing machine humming along at night while I was lulled to sleep.
One of the gifts she made for me was a stuffed elephant I named Ellie, of course. She made only a few of these and those of us who were blessed to get one, still have them! We will not say how old Ms. Ellie is now as it's never polite to ask a lady her age but let's just say she remembers bell-bottoms, butterfly collars and all things considered retro these days.
My mother called me to say she found most of the pattern that makes up an Ellie and did I want it? Did I want it??? YES!!! Absolutely!! So, the pattern is here and while I've had to create a few pieces to complete it and also create directions for it, a prototype was made with success! I know, no pictures yet. I want to wait until all the new fabric colors come in and we can take a look together at completed Ellies along with their forebear. Did I mention these sweeties come with dresses??? Oh yes they do!!
